THE TASTE

A radiant Colombian coffee, and pure Arabica too. This well-rounded well-balanced filter coffee is highly aromatic, tantalisingly sweet, a touch fruity and laced with caramel and chocolate flavours.  The name Almika, meaning “she of the sun”, brings out the warmth in anyone who drinks a cup.

THE GROWER

Kachalu, Colombia

Produced by a small group of enterprising farmers calling themselves Kachalu - meaning hope.  They share the aims of producing more environmentally friendly coffee, protecting their rich wildlife habitat and preventing water contamination.  Economic conditions forced many of their neighbours to abandon farms or convert to other crops.

Kachalu is part of the Rainforest Alliance which works with coffee growers to cultivate beans sustainably and protect the people and wildlife that depend on the land. Rigorous standards developed by scientists, NGOs, coffee growers and community members mean better pay, housing, education and healthcare for coffee growing families.
