TALIA

THE TASTE

A heavenly blend of Guatemalan, Ethiopian and Columbian Arabica beans.  Talia has a powerful body, a chocolaty aroma, and an almondy taste offset by a hint of bitterness.  The finish is reminiscent of sweet liquorice.  The name Talia means “dew of god”; a cup of Talia is a treat we all deserve.

THE GROWER

Blended from beans grown by 3 cooperatives:

Red Ecolsierra, Colombia

Founded in 2001, Red Ecolsierra aims to create a path toward sustainable production and now helps over 600 families. Its coffee farming families have put significant effort into making the transition from conventional to organic farming.  Red Ecolsierra helps improve sanitation, processing, recycling, conservation and wildlife protection.

Asobagri, Guatemala

Produced by a group of Mayan Indians who farm in Huehuetenango, one of Guatemala’s top coffee growing districts.  The farmers founded the Asobagri association in 1989 after a period of political violence and increasing poverty.

Asobagri is Fairtrade (FLO) certified; each producer grows high quality organic and Fairtrade coffee.  Training and technical assistance from the association helps growers achieve exceptionally high standards.  Asobagri builds roads so that farmers can transport their beans easily and loans local women money to start small businesses.

Sidama, Ethiopia
Produced by a group of Ethiopian coffee farmers in the Sidamo district of southern Ethiopia.  The Sidama cooperative promotes high quality coffee. It helps members develop relationships with buyers, exports coffee, provides warehousing, educates and trains, and offers saving and credit services.
